Richard W. Lappenbusch

Richard Lappenbusch is an accomplished media and technology executive with twenty years of experience producing media and optimizing delivery within global digital media supply chains.

Richard has built software, solutions, intellectual property, products and services for companies such as Continuum Productions, GTE, Microsoft, MSN, MSNBC and Videodiscovery. He built and managed the operations unit of MSNBC for NBC and Microsoft through its first three years as a start up, and designed interactive television facilities and applications for Microsoft as well as driving industry initiatives, technical policies, interoperability standards, settlements and strategic plans to success. He has served on the boards of several private companies and a few non-profit organizations.

Richard received his Masters of Professional Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in Interactive Telecommunications, and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Redlands in Business Administration. He has earned the Competitive Intelligence Professional designation and is a Member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals. He has also been called upon to participate in volunteer civic engagements including his appointment by the Mayor of Seattle to the Vice Chair of the City of Seattle’s Commission on Electronic Communication, which drafted the city’s early Telecommunications strategy.
